STOIO is the Flemish research organisation acknowledged by the Flemish government as an organisation which conducts policy-relevant research. It will be active for the period 2007 - 2011. The consortium is the continuation of the Flemish research organisation for Entrepreneurship, Enterprises and Innovation (STOOI, 2001-2006) but slightly different. Given the expertise of all three participating institutions(University of Ghent, Catholic University of Leuven and Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School), which they acquired collaborating around the theme 'Entrepreneurship', and the synergies and trust that has come forth from this, it went without saying that STOIO again would be a collaboration between the University of Ghent, Catholic University of Leuven and Vlerick Leuven Ghent Management School.
